Triumph Group Takes One More Aviation Company Under Its Wing

By

Triumph Group, Inc. of Berwyn says its purchase of the San Antonio, Tex. firm North American Aircraft Services, Inc. will boost its annual revenue by $35 million.

Triumph announced the purchase of the leading provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul services on Oct. 17, but did not disclose a purchase price.  NAAS, which has been focused primarily on plane-side aircraft fuel systems, will now operate as Triumph Aviation Services – NAAS Division.

Jeffrey Frisby, Triumph’s president and CEO, said NAAS’ extensive network of global MRO locations will well position Triumph to expand its services to global customers.

“In addition, this acquisition furthers our strategic goal of optimizing our segment and customer balance, expanding our global footprint, and positioning ourselves for future profitable growth,” Frisby said.

NAAS’ current management team led by Scott Hagler will remain with Triumph.

NAAS employs 300 people at locations throughout the U.S. and delivers line maintenance services, ground support maintenance, routine and emergency fuel systems maintenance and repair, fuel leak detection and fuel bladder cell repair services. NAAS does extensive business with Boeing, Airbus, Northrop Grumman, Southwest Airlines, FedEx, UPS and international clients.

Earlier this year Triumph also purchase GE Aviation of Yakima, Wa.
