Hankin Group Solar Farm Waiting For Brighter Days
A dark cloud has spread over the skies above Pennsylvania’s solar energy market, but if the sun were to break through again, the Exton-based Hankin Group stands ready to reap the benefits of renewable energy.
“If it becomes attractive again, we would definitely start up and do more solar projects,” Vice President of Design and Sustainable Development Lance Hillegas said in a recent State Impact Pennsylvania article.
At that very same site, solar energy production could be tripled, he noted.
First, however, it would take a significant solar energy market revival. Since building its two-megawatt solar project in 2011, the Hankin Group has seen the value of the solar renewable energy credits it has earned plummet to about one-fifteenth their original price. State incentives and a surge in demand for renewable energy would certainly help.
