LCH plans to use the grant for an information management system needs assessment.
“This funding will help us better serve the community,” said Margarita Queralt Mirkil (pictured above), president and CEO of LCH. “We are working to improve our services and the delivery of them and the grant from The Philadelphia Foundation will greatly help our efforts.”
The grant is from the foundation’s Milton Apfelbaum Fund and recently announced by foundation President Andrew Swinney.
Since 1918, The Philadelphia Foundation has been committed to improving the quality of life in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. It links those with financial resources to those who serve societal needs. The foundation grows the more than 800 charitable funds established by its donors and distributes about $20 million annually in grants and scholarships to about 1,000 effective nonprofit organizations.
Through this support, the foundation builds healthy communities, strengthens children and families, advances economic opportunities and enhances culture and recreation.
La Comunidad Hispana was established in 1973 as a community-based nonprofit organization to help low income residents of southern Chester County to stay healthy, build strong families and lead productive lives by providing high-quality, culturally welcoming services.
