CareerLink And Workforce Investment Board Are Offering New Employment Training Programs

By

New job training opportunities ranging from nursing to Microsoft Office skills to electronics technology certification will be available to Chester County residents during the next year through the Chester County Workforce Investment Board and PA CareerLink-Chester County.

The offices say they have just posted programs of new employment and training services – the county’s most comprehensive listing ever – that will be available until June 30, 2015.

Some of the opportunities such as CNC machinery and welding were requested by local manufacturing employers who are looking for new workers.

Other employment and training programs include Customer Service Specialist Training with National Retail Federation (NRF) certification; Computer Numeric Controlled certification; Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) certification; Certified Nurses’ Assistant training; and workshops on employment success, job seeker essentials and steps for entering the workforce.

“Not only is this latest program of training services the most comprehensive ever, but it is also bolstered by the excellent financial stability services at the new PA CareerLink-Chester County and United Way Financial Stability Center in Exton,” said Pat Bokovitz, director of Chester County’s Department of Community Development and the county’s Workforce Investment Board.

“We continue to support job-seekers by holding monthly general employment workshops as well as the job locater services and career assessments that we have offered in the past, and remain committed to evolving the training services and job assistance to meet the changing needs of Chester County’s unemployed and underemployed,” Bokovitz said.

Unless otherwise stated, the employment and training programs and workshops are held at the new PA CareerLink-Chester County and United Way Financial Stability Center offices at 479 Thomas Jones Way, Suite 500 in Exton.  The new location of the PA CareerLink-Chester County and United Way of Chester County Financial Stability Center is on the Route A bus route (Coatesville to Exton to West Chester) with a drop-off within 75 yards of the facility.

All courses are free to those who are eligible.
