Chester County’s Website Is Best In Its Class

By

The official website for Chester County, http://www.chesco.org/, is considered best in its class by the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania.

CCAP named the site winner of the 2014 Excellence in Website Awards among websites in first-to-third class counties during last week’s CCAP annual conference in Lancaster.

Chester County’s website receives more than 125,000 visits every month. The site provides comprehensive information and links to all county services including immunization clinics, county parks and trails, how and where to vote, what to do if you’re called for jury duty, online payment options and emergency services.

Earlier this year the county also launched its mobile app, ChescoConnect, which supports the main website with information formatted for hand-held devices. The mobile app features job listings, emergency alerts, frequently asked questions, and an interactive restaurant inspections button giving the latest health department reports on county food establishments.

“Since the website redesign a few years ago, we have worked to improve and enhance the content and features of Chesco.org – updating the site daily, and continually expanding and adding new features that simplify processes and save users time and effort,” said Commissioner Terence Farrell.

Lancaster County Commissioner Craig Lehman said the website is up to date and user-friendly.  Commissioner Kathi Cozzone said she was happy to see employees who work on the site rewarded for their efforts.
