ONExia Robot More Than Doubles Execution Speed

By

A little competition on the assembly line can be a big motivator, especially when the worker next to you more than doubles his execution speed. That’s the case with the industrial robot Baxter, distributed exclusively in the region by West Chester’s ONExia.

“Baxter will now be able to work at a true human cadence, especially over sustained time,” Keystone Edge reported in an article earlier this year announcing the breakthrough, which cuts Baxter’s moves from 15 seconds to 6 or 6.5 seconds while also improving accuracy.

Another development allowing Baxter to recognize objects during its work is anticipated in a future update yet this year.

“The ultimate vision is for a kind of iTunes store where Baxter owners can customize their robots,” the article stated.
