Chaddsford Winery is planning a barrel of fun for the summer with a series of grilling weekends – NOT grueling weekends – featuring food vendors, wine pairings and live music.
The winery is suggesting people check the web site, www.chaddsford.com, as the schedule is in progress but plans so far call for performances from 2 to 6 p.m. on grilling days. The Doug Kelley Trio will perform May 31 and June 1. The Nicole Zell Duo will be there on June 6, and Rob Swamson will perform on June 8.
The Gerri Smith Duo takes to the stage on June 14, and Mike Favinger will be there on June 15. The vendor Sum Pig will grill on June 15. Nicole Ehinger will play on June 21, and Justine’s Cuisines will grill on June 22. Dale Knight will play on June 28, and Rory Sullivan will play on June 29.
The winery is also hosting days and evenings of live music, wine and food over Memorial Day weekend from noon to 7 p.m. May 23, 24, 25 and 26. There will be a dry wine tasting in the cellar, and wine slushies will be served at the outdoor wine bar. A $10 tasting fee includes a dry and sweet wine tasting. No reservations are necessary. Seating is first come, first served, and visitors are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chairs.
Larry Roney will be the musician from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday. Alex and Shiloh Duo will play from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, and Hake and Jarema will play from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Rory Sullivan will play from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, and Josh Komorowski will play from 3:30 to 6 p.m. On Monday Drew Nielands and John Grecia will play from 1 to 4 p.m.
On the menu will be Southbound Barbecue on Friday, Nick’s Chicks on Saturday, and Justine’s Cuisines for Sunday and Monday.
Chaddsford Winery is at 632 Old Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford. Owners Eric and Lee Miller have been making fine wine since 1982.
