Writer Judith Lee To Lead Social Media Business Success Seminar For Exton Chamber

By

The Exton Regional Chamber of Commerce has quite a few member events set for May, including a business success seminar led by freelance writer Judith Lee of Atglen.

Lee has been a communications professional, freelance writer and marketing consultant since the mid-1980s. Since 2010 Lee has focused on social media as an effective and affordable tool that “levels the playing field” for small businesses. Her clients include small business owners, health care professionals and non-profit groups.

According to Lee, what’s hot for 2014 is mobile marketing. Lee will teach how social media and mobile technology are linked; how mobile has changed social marketing; the difference between mobile websites and mobile apps; trends in mobile search and browsing; use of QR codes and how to create one; how to “get found” on mobile; the power of SMS messaging; marketing vs. motivation to purchase; and what it all means for your connection with customers.

The seminar is set for 7:30 to 10 a.m. at Delaware County Community College, 906 Springdale Drive, Exton. Cost is $20 to Chamber members and $30 to nonmembers.

There will also be a “meet the candidates” town hall meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Wyndham Garden, 815 N. Pottstown Pike, Exton. Speaking will be Ryan Costello and Dr. Manan Trivedi, both candidates for congress in the sixth district, as well as Kathi Cozzone, running for a senate seat in the 44th district.

On Thursday, May 8 there will be a member appreciation and directory release party is planned for 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at the Exton Chamber, 185 Exton Square Mall. Also, the chamber’s annual golf outing at the Radley Run Country Club will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, May 12.

Chamber businesses are also invited to shred old paper at Penn Liberty Bank from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17. The bank is located at 210 Font Road, Downingtown.
