Roll On Down To Herrs Potato Chips In Nottingham For May 15 Cruise Night

By

Herrs Potato Chips in Nottingham is inviting drivers of classic cars and those who love them to visit the factory for a free cruise night from 5 p.m. to dusk on Thursday, May 15.

The factory plans to offer free tours, food, fun, games, raffles and live music. Participants will be able to vote for their favorite classic cars, with judging at 7 p.m. Trophies will be awarded.

Herrs has been a regional leader in the snack food industry since 1946 when James Herr bought a Lancaster potato chip company for $1,750. The company generally introduces several new products annually, but has not unveiled a new snack since November when it released Sweet Potato Ripple Baked Crisps, along with Ripple Cut Sweet Potato Cinnamon Sugar Potato Crisps – just for the holidays.

Perhaps there will be a new product announced at cruise night?

Herrs factory tours include a video, educational walk through the factory, and snacks. These tours are generally packed and highly popular with families and school groups. The tours run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Fridays. The facility gift shop also carries local gifts and Herrs memorabilia.

Herrs reports its sales territory has expanded to include branches and distributors in 18 states. The company has more than 1,500 employees in Nottingham, making it one of the largest independent snack food companies in the U.S.
