SiriusXM and The Wharton School in Philadelphia this week announced they have launched “Business Radio Powered by The Wharton School,” a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week radio channel on SiriusXM Channel 111.

The channel – to be broadcast both from the nearby Ivy League campus and Silicon Valley – will feature a wide range of original shows hosted by business school faculty. Guests will include world-renowned executives, captains of industry and experts.

“Business Radio is an innovative way to bring the work of our faculty and the expertise of business leaders into the practical world of the listeners,” Karl Ulrich, vice dean of innovation at The Wharton School said in a news release.

During the first week, SiriusXM listeners will hear interviewed business leaders and notables including: William P. Lauder, executive chairman, The Estee Lauder Companies, Inc.; Bob Crandall, retired chairman and chief executive officer of American Airlines; Tony Pontauro, a former top advertising executive for Anheuser-Busch; Neil Glat, president of the New York Jets; Scott McNeil, president of the Philadelphia 76ers; Doug Duncan, senior vice president and chief economist for Fannie Mae; and Stan Humphries, chief economist for Zillow.

“We have launched a channel that connects America’s business owners, corporate executives, managers and entrepreneurs with some of the world’s greatest business minds,” said Scott Greenstein, president and chief content officer for SiriusXM.

“From leading a team to turning the next big idea into a business, Business Radio delivers real-world advice and information, with every minute of the day focused on helping listeners succeed in their working lives” Greenstein said.

Programs will include “When Things Go Wrong,” a forum where listeners share customer service experiences gone awry and Business Radio gets to the bottom of the situation; “Launch Pad,” a show where ventures go live on Business Radio and listeners weigh in; and “Women at Work” where hosts and listeners join in a conversation about ways to help more women lead and succeed in the work place.

Business Radio will be available on SiriusXM On Demand for subscribers listening via the SiriusXM Internet Radio App for smartphones and mobile devices, or online at siriusxm.com. Sirius says it’s the world’s largest radio broadcaster measured by revenue, with 25.6 million subscribers. SiriusXM creates and broadcasts commercial-free music, premier sports talk and live events.
