2026 VISTA NextGen Superstars: Alex Rush

Alex Rush, Communications Coordinator at Kennett Collaborative, joins the 2026 VISTA NextGen Superstars.

For Alex Rush, storytelling is at the heart of building community.

As Communications Coordinator for Kennett Collaborative, Rush focuses on sharing what makes Kennett Square special — from promoting local events to highlighting small businesses and fostering connections across the community.

Rush, who currently lives in Kennett Square, grew up in nearby Glen Mills, where an entrepreneurial spirit took root early. At just seven years old, Rush and her nine-year-old sister launched a pet-sitting business that grew into caring for homes, animals, and even large farms throughout the area.

“That experience taught me responsibility and how to connect with people,” Rush stated. “It was my first introduction to building something of my own.”

After graduating from Cardinal O’Hara High School, Rush continued her education at Villanova University, earning a certificate in Human Resource Management.

In her current role, Rush manages social media, creates content, and helps amplify the voices of local businesses and organizations. She identifies one of her proudest accomplishments as seeing digital engagement translate into real-world impact.

“Watching online promotion turn into strong attendance and energy at events is incredibly rewarding,” Rush said. “It shows how powerful storytelling can be in bringing a community together.”

Outside of work, Rush enjoys spending time in some of their favorite local spots, including The Naked Olive, a favorite restaurant, and Glenroy Preserve, where she often walks her dogs.

Looking ahead, Rush has an adventurous goal in mind: At the top of her bucket list is a multi-night whitewater rafting trip through the Grand Canyon, an experience that combines exploration, challenge, and a love for the outdoors.

Rush and the rest of the 2026 Class of VISTA NextGen Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, Apr. 30, at the Penn State Great Valley Conference Center in Malvern.

Sponsors are still being sought for the VNS Awards Reception & Celebration, with a portion of proceeds benefiting this year’s nonprofit partner, the Chester County Opportunities Industrialization Center (CCOIC). A sponsorship offers unparalleled networking opportunities, enhances your organization’s visibility, and aligns you with a celebration of excellence and innovation. Learn more about the various opportunities available to partner with VISTA Today as it honors Chester County’s next generation of leaders, or contact Steve Knickerbocker at [email protected] or 484-437-2826.
