Exton Software Company Expands International Holdings

3.1.2014 Bently SystemsExton-based Bentley Systems, Inc. is expanding into South Africa.

Bently, which provides comprehensive software solutions for sustaining infrastructure, recently acquired the eB services business of DocQnet Systems International in Woodmead, South Africa. Bentley did not disclose a price.

Since 2002 DocQnet has offered software solutions focused on project and asset information management solutions. As part of the deal, 10 of DocQnet’s highly skilled and experienced consultants have joined Bentley’s extensive Global Professional Services team dedicated to meeting the demands of Bentley users employing eB-based products and solutions worldwide

Al Gray, Bentley vice president of asset lifecycle information management services, singled out two DocQnet executives for recognition: Cobus Rossouw, DocQnet’s former executive director, and Frederik Verhoef, DocQnet’s managing director. Verhoef is a trained industrial engineer with a master’s degree in business leadership. He joins Bentley as regional director, Sub-Saharan Africa.

Gray said the new team members bring a thorough understanding of local engineering requirements and best practices in South Africa.

Bentley is headquartered in Exton and has international offices in Dublin, Ireland and Beijing, China. The company was founded in 1984 and has built a reputation on helping many industries sustain infrastructure. Its solutions encompass the MicroStation platform for infrastructure design and modeling, the ProjectWise platform for infrastructure project team collaboration and work sharing, and the AssetWise platform for infrastructure asset operations.

Bentley states it has more than 3,000 colleagues in 50 countries, more than $500 million in annual revenues, and since 2005 has invested more than $1 billion in research, development and acquisitions.
