As Blackbird Health officially opens its new pediatric mental health clinic in Lancaster, the organization is also actively recruiting clinicians to help meet the growing demand for children’s behavioral health services across the region.

Located at 1390 Harrisburg Pike, the new clinic opened June 1 and represents a significant investment in expanding access to specialized mental health care for children, adolescents, and families throughout Lancaster County and the Greater Susquehanna Valley region. The expansion comes at a time when families across Central Pennsylvania continue to face long waitlists, limited local resources, and lengthy travel times to access pediatric mental health services.

To support its Lancaster operations, Blackbird Health is hiring several clinical positions, including Child and Adolescent Therapists, and seeking applicants for its prestigious Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner residency program designed to nurture and empower the next generation of mental health professionals.

“Families shouldn’t have to wait months or travel hours to get answers for their child,” said Dr. Michael Tang, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Chief Medical Officer at Blackbird Health. “Lancaster families deserve access to high-quality pediatric mental health care close to home, and we’re excited to become part of this community.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in five children ages 3-17 has a diagnosed mental, emotional, or behavioral health condition. Yet demand for pediatric mental health care continues to exceed available resources nationwide and throughout Pennsylvania.

Blackbird Health’s Lancaster clinic was designed to help close that gap by offering comprehensive evaluations, therapy, medication management, and coordinated care specifically tailored to children and adolescents. The clinic serves young people experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation challenges, and neurodivergent conditions.

For clinicians looking to make a meaningful impact, Blackbird emphasizes its whole-child, whole-family model of care. Providers work within integrated teams that examine the interaction between brain, body, and behavior to identify the root causes of challenges and create individualized treatment plans.

Professionals interested in joining the Lancaster team can view current openings through Blackbird Health’s careers page and learn more about the organization’s mission to transform pediatric mental health care.
