Oxford Friend Group Celebrates Girlhood with Specialty Coffee Pop-Ups

With their brand Early Girly Club, a group of Oxford women is celebrating female friendships with unique coffee pop-ups.

A group of Oxford women are celebrating female friendship and empowerment with their coffee brand Early Girly Club, writes Gabbie Burton for Chester County Press.

Started by friends Alejandra Marquez, Kelly Green, and Gina McCutcheon, the brand offers inventive coffee flavors along with sourdough bread sold through in-person pop-ups. Without a formal storefront, the team currently sells its product through the scheduled drops held at their homes or local gyms.

The idea began when Marquez tried a banana bread matcha on a trip to Mexico. Imagining the flavor in a coffee instead, she experimented with creating her own banana bread syrup at home, giving out banana bread lattes to friends and family.

The coffees quickly grew in popularity. Even Green, a high school friend and former coffee-hater, loved the banana bread latte.

Teaming up with McCutcheon, another Oxford High School friend, the trio began selling the coffees along with McCutcheon’s homemade sourdough. Their first pop-up took place on Black Friday, and they’ve since hosted two more.

Early Girly Club has gained a loyal following throughout the community, especially among other young women. About the connection with their customer base, Green said, “People would pick up orders, but all the friend group would come over and everyone was involved…it was more of a hangout for the girls.”

The most recent drop took place on March 28. The team posts updates on upcoming drops on their Instagram, which has already gained nearly 700 followers.
