On Mar. 16, Chester County Futures hosted its annual Career Expo at Immaculata University, providing high school students with an unparalleled opportunity to explore potential career paths and engage directly with industry professionals. The event is a cornerstone of the organization’s Passport Program, which empowers students in grades 9-12 by linking academic learning with career possibilities.
“From identifying interests to aligning them with college majors and career outcomes, students aren’t just planning for life after high school—they’re actively designing it,” said Mary Williams, Director of Community Engagement for Chester County Futures. “When students understand the ‘why’ behind their choices, they move forward with purpose.”
More than 70 students from five area high schools, and exhibitors from 35 local businesses across Chester County participated in this year’s expo. Students from Coatesville, Kennett, Oxford, Octorara, and Phoenixville area high schools were able to connect face-to-face with experts from various fields such as technology, healthcare, finance, and the arts. Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to take a campus tour of Immaculata University to learn more about their degree programs, extracurricular activities, and campus life, ending the day off with lunch on campus.
The Career Expo exemplifies Chester County Futures’ commitment to fostering opportunities that address both educational pursuits and professional readiness among local youth. Through hands-on learning experiences like these, CCF continues its mission of empowering students toward informed decision-making regarding their post-secondary life choices.
