For Gordon Prince, the path to partnership at Gawthrop Greenwood has been shaped by steady growth, strong roots, and a clear sense of purpose.

A native of Northfield, N.J., Prince got an early introduction to hard work through his first job: helping out at his father’s landscaping company when he was 12 years old.

That foundation carried into his academic journey. Prince graduated from Mainland Regional High School before heading to Gettysburg College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. He received his J.D. from Widener University Delaware Law School in 2019, setting the stage for a career in business and commercial real estate law.

At Gawthrop Greenwood, Prince advises clients on a wide range of transactional matters. His work includes business formation, contract negotiation, corporate governance, and guiding buyers and sellers through commercial real estate transactions and business sales.

“What I enjoy most is helping clients navigate some of the biggest purchases or sales of their lives,” Prince said. “Those moments matter, and being a trusted advisor during them is incredibly rewarding.”

In January, Prince reached a major milestone when he was named partner at the firm — a moment he describes as his proudest professional achievement.

“In an industry where lawyers frequently jump from firm to firm, it is particularly gratifying to have found a home straight out of law school, where my skills have been valued, supported, and developed,” he said.

Beyond his work, Prince is deeply involved in the local community. He serves on the board of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce and is active in several professional organizations, including the Chester County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Maritime Law Association of the United States. He’s also a graduate of Leadership Chester County.

Prince credits much of his inspiration to his late grandfather, who was also an attorney.

Closer to home, he enjoys spending time in West Chester, where he lives.

“I really enjoy walking around the borough with my family and stopping in various shops and restaurants,” Prince said.

Atop his bucket list is traveling to Italy.

Prince and the rest of the 2026 Class of VISTA NextGen Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, April 30 at Penn State Great Valley.
