Local Entrepreneur is Betting Big on Pottstown’s Next Chapter

Real Estate entrepreneur Aaron Jones is rehabbing homes in Pottstown while helping attract new residents and businesses to the Borough.

Pottstown’s revival isn’t happening by accident. It’s being fueled in part by entrepreneurs who see opportunity where others once saw decline.

One of those believers is Aaron Jones, founder of Fenix Capital Group, who has spent the past few years renovating homes and investing in the Borough’s future. Jones, originally from Phoenixville, entered the real estate world after graduating from Temple University in 2012. After gaining experience in mortgage investing and property development, he launched his own company in 2015 and began flipping properties across Philadelphia before turning his attention closer to home.

In the past two years, Jones and his team have completed roughly half a dozen home renovations in Pottstown, transforming aging or blighted properties into modern homes ready for new buyers. His approach emphasizes high-end finishes and careful staging, even on homes priced around $200,000, helping attract younger professionals and first-time buyers to the Borough.

Jones works closely with construction manager Jason Borzumati, who oversees day-to-day project operations. Beyond residential flips, the team also owns and manages commercial properties, including the High Street Terminal food hall in downtown, which hosts several local food vendors.

For Jones, the mission goes beyond real estate. Having witnessed Phoenixville’s transformation over the past two decades, he sees a similar future for Pottstown.

“I’ve seen how Phoenixville has turned in the last 20 years,” Jones said. “I really see that happening in Pottstown. The infrastructure is a lot better than in Phoenixville. I see it being able to support a very large redevelopment, and I hope to be a part of that.”

Alongside his development work, Jones recently launched Fenix Flooring with longtime contractor Greg Kleinert, expanding the company’s role in improving local properties.

Ultimately, Jones hopes that each renovation does more than upgrade a house. It helps reshape perceptions of Pottstown and encourages more people to call it home.
