Giving Never Tasted So Sweet: Community Foundation to Host Charity Dessert Competition

Chester County Community Foundation will host its Sweet Charity event on March 3.

Imagine sampling the region’s most delectable desserts while meeting and greeting community members, philanthropists, and friends all while celebrating America’s 250th birthday.

Chester County’s finest dessert chefs will showcase their delectable creations on Tuesday, March 3 at Downingtown Country Club from 4-7:30 PM. Attendees can sample delicious desserts while celebrating legacy philanthropy with the Chester County Community Foundation.

Sweet Charity is a tasty night out for a good cause, but it is also a serious dessert competition. Dessert chefs compete for Most Popular Dessert, Best Dessert, Most Creative Dessert, and a new category; Most America’s 250th Birthday/Let Freedom Ring Dessert. Guests vote for the Most Popular, while a professional panel of judges deliberate on the other categories.

This year’s participants include Alexander Catering Company, Arianna’s Gourmet Café & Catering, Bridge Street Chocolates, Crème, Dragonfly Catering, Feast Your Eyes Catering, General Warren, Gramm’s Kitchen, John Serock Catering, Maryellen’s Cake Pops, Northbrook Marketplace, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Robert Ryan Catering & Design, and Rose’s Little Donuts.

More dessert vendors will be entering the competition in the coming weeks.

Winners from the 2025 event include General Warren for Best Professional Dessert, Northbrook Marketplace for Most Creative Dessert, Bridge Street Chocolates for Most Popular Dessert, and Feast Your Eyes for Most Festive Dessert.

“We are looking forward to Sweet Charity to encourage generosity and philanthropy with the festive flair of America’s 250th Birthday,” said Karen Simmons, President/CEO of the Community Foundation. “We are thrilled to have talented chefs showcasing their culinary artistry; some are new and many returning competitors. We extend our gratitude to the patrons, sponsors, judges, and volunteers who help make this event a success.”

Sweet Charity benefits the Chester County Community Foundation, which has been growing legacy philanthropy throughout the region for 30 years. The Community Foundation helps families and individuals with charitable giving for now and forever, by encouraging legacy gifts and increasing awareness of the needs and issues facing Chester County.

All are invited to attend. Learn more about Sweet Charity at the Chester County Community Foundation.
