The historic Pineville Tavern in Wrightstown will be offering a new dining experience starting on Friday, Feb. 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
Diners will be able to order items from a new Italian Steakhouse menu, taking inspiration from the Abruzzese family’s heritage.
“’Dal Abruzzese’ means ‘From Abruzzo,’ which is where my father’s family migrated from in the late 1800s,” said Andrew Abruzzese, owner of the tavern. “My mother’s family hailed from Naples, and the collaboration began when my parents were married in 1950.”
Chef Matthew Levin and Andrew’s son, Drew, have collaborated in the kitchen, experimenting with new food creations and perfecting their taste.
The idea came about after discussions between Abruzzese and his friend and mentor, Jeffery Chodorow. Chodorow, who’s made a name for himself in the restaurant business, has been a loyal customer for over 30 years.
“During a conversation last summer, Jeffery suggested that we might devote a section of our menu to Abruzzese family favorites,” said Andrew. “I said, I never thought of The Pineville Tavern as being Italian, but it has some of the best Italian food anywhere around.”
Customers will be able to enjoy items like Grilled Shrimp Anchovy Butter, Beef Carpaccio, Tuna Tartare, Caesar Salad, and String Beans Mozzarella.
