Chester Springs teen Jamie DiGiacomo is representing Chester County on a global stage as she dominates competitive archery, writes Courtney H. Diener Stokes for The Daily Local News.
The 17-year-old has broken state and national records, qualified for the United States National Archery Team twice, and traveled the world for various archery competitions. She recently won gold at the 2025 USA Archery Arizona Cup, and earned a feature on USA Archery’s website.
DiGiacomo began archery at a young age, competing in her first Pennsylvania competition at just nine years old. Making use of her family’s YMCA membership, she connected with archery first as a hobby and later as a full-time passion.
In the years since, she has trained at Lancaster Archery, at home, and at other nearby archery spots. She shoots for the Lancaster Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Team in the category of women’s barebow.
DiGiacomo practices up to six days per week and with a private coach twice per month. This season’s competition schedule will take her to Utah, California, and Ohio, among other states.
While she achieves archery stardom near and far, DiGiacomo somehow still balances her athletic career with her online schooling. Looking to the future, the dedicated teenager hopes to keep improving and qualify for Worlds within the next several years.
