Winner of five Tony Awards on Broadway, including Best Play, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, is coming to Delaware County Community College (DCCC).
Based on a bestselling book, it is the poignant and funny story about Christopher Boone, a 15-year-old boy with an extraordinary neurodivergent mind who sets out to solve the murder of a neighbor’s dog and embarks on a journey of self-discovery and family secrets.
DCCC’s fall student theatre production hits the stage at the College’s Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media), Nov. 19-22 at 7:00 PM in the Academic Building’s Large Auditorium.
The production is directed by Stephen Patrick Smith and includes several student Actors who identify as neurodivergent or autistic. “I always strive to have diverse casts with diverse perspectives,” Smith said. One is that of student Gillian Keener of Aston, who has muscular dystrophy and plays Christopher’s Teacher, Siobhan, a key figure who helps him navigate the world.
Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students (valid school ID required). For tickets, visit DCCC. The cast also includes Javier Villagomez of Kennett Square as Christopher, and Kayla Frantz of Upper Chichester and Kevin Lara of Kennett Square as Christopher’s parents, Judy and Ed. Note: this production uses strong language as well as flashing light sequences.
