On Thursday, Oct. 16, People’s Light will host a special fundraising event: Lights Up: Tommy, Ray and Me. The evening promises a unique blend of storytelling, Philadelphia sports history, and community spirit, all in support of the theatre’s artistic and educational mission.

Guests will begin the night in the Farmhouse, enjoying appetizers, drinks, and an upscale tailgate buffet dinner. At 5:45 PM, celebrated Sportswriter Ray Didinger will join a conversation led by Katy Zachry, NBC10 Anchor and People’s Light Board Member. Together, they will explore Didinger’s career, creative projects, and personal reflections.

At 7:00 PM, attendees will move to the Haas Theatre for a performance of Tommy and Me, Didinger’s moving play about his lifelong friendship with NFL legend Tommy McDonald. The production highlights themes of perseverance, admiration, and the enduring impact of sports heroes. Following the performance, audience members will have the chance to participate in a Q&A session with Didinger and special guests.

Each guest will also receive a commemorative gift to mark the occasion. With only 100 tickets available, the event guarantees an intimate and unforgettable experience for all attendees.
