Todd Conrad Named 2025 Coach of the Meet After Leading Team UMLY to Historic YMCA Nationals Victory

Following a record-breaking performance at the 2025 YMCA Swimming National ChampionshipsTodd Conrad, Head Coach of Team Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY) and Associate Executive Director of UMLY, was named 2025 Coach of the Meet at the YMCA National Long Course Swimming Championship in Ocala, Fla. The award is voted on annually by fellow coaches and is based on overall team performance at the event.

Under the leadership of Conrad and Competitive Aquatics Director Owen Edwards, Team UMLY delivered one of the strongest performances in program history. The Women’s Team captured the national title for the first time in 31 years. 

Ellie McNamara earned individual national championships in both the 400- and 1500-meter freestyle and led off the 800 freestyle relay team, alongside Keilani SilvaPaige Fisher, and Whitney Kane, to another national win. 

Sebastian Tith also earned an individual national championship in the 100-meter breaststroke, marking the first time in program history that Team UMLY celebrated both a male and female national champion on the same day. The combined team finished third overall in the nation.

We are proud of him, Owen, and Team UMLY for giving their very best during the 2025 National Swim Meet.”

Conrad has more than 25 years of coaching experience and is known for building a culture rooted in discipline, teamwork, and individual growth. Conrad and Edwards joined the YMCA of Greater Brandywine in 2020 and 2016, respectively, and have helped position Team UMLY as one of the strongest swim programs in the country.
