The Bucks County Renaissance Faire is returning to Doylestown for its second year from Saturday, Aug. 30 to Monday, Sept. 1, from 11 AM to 6 PM, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
The faire, held on the TileWorks of Bucks County grounds, will feature a variety of new attractions along with 115 craft and food vendors.
“We have a lot of new entertainment coming this year, including interactive shows and events like Taylor’s Renaissance Country Dancing, which teaches patrons fun historical dances, and our daily costume contest, where patrons can show off their amazing outfits and win prizes,” said Daniel GreenWolf, entertainment director with Found Artifact Entertainment, LLC.
Among the highlights are The Falconry Girl, Margaret Young, with her bird demonstrations; a knight battle presented by Armored Combat Worldwide; and the Daily Riders Equestrian Show.
The event will also include a mermaid grotto, immersive games by Magibleu Enterprises and Adventures from the Wizard’s Tower, and a petting zoo.
A costume contest will be held, awarding prizes for Best Individual Adult, Best Individual Kid and Best Group Costume.
Visitors can take part in fun activities like dagger-tossing, axe-throwing, and archery, and even get a lesson in whip cracking.
Tickets range from $10 to $20, and children under age 4 can attend for free. Active-duty military, veterans and seniors are eligible for discounts.
See what’s new at this year’s Bucks County Renaissance Faire and plan your visit to enjoy knights, costume contests and more in the Patch.
