Chester County residents can expect two new Trader Joe’s locations in both Berwyn and Exton in the coming months, writes Michael Bartiromo for PHL17.
The new Berwyn location is planned for 550 Lancaster Avenue, and the Exton location for 125 West Lincoln Highway.
Trader Joe’s currently has thirty new locations listed as “opening soon.” The company added more than two dozen new locations after a previous update in April.
The opening dates for the new stores have yet to be confirmed. However, a Trader Joe’s spokesperson shared that the company typically announces new stores 3 to 6 months before opening.
The “Store Openings” tab on the company’s announcements webpage will update with the opening date once confirmed.
Customers can find whether the new location will offer beer and wine in the “Opening Soon” tab on the company’s store locator webpage.
Executives from Trader Joe’s shared that factors in selecting a new location include population density, traffic patterns, and parking availability. The stores are typically smaller than standard grocery stories, ranging from 8,000 to 15,000 square feet.
The company also avoids opening in spaces that were previously grocery stores to create the authentic “feel” of a Trader Joe’s.
