From local tours to the outdoors, discover how to keep your child busy all summer long with family-friendly activities in Chester County.

School’s almost out! If you’re looking for kid-friendly activities to keep little ones busy all summer long, look no further. These Chester County activities are perfect for the whole family, writes Bradford Pearson and Victor Fiorillo for Philadelphia Magazine

From paper airplanes to drones, kids who are fascinated by flying objects will love to spend the day at the American Helicopter Museum in West Chester.

It’s packed with real helicopters, including the impressive Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey, and interactive exhibits that let kids learn about flight in hands-on ways.

Nottingham is home to the Herr’s potato chip factory, where tours are available. Kids (and adults!) will love to get an up-close look at how the factory makes their chips so perfectly salty. Of course, you’ll want to grab a few bags on your way out too.

If your family enjoys fresh air and a bit of adventure, Chester County Parks and Recreation has tons of kid-friendly activities all year round.

A particular favorite, the Family + Archery program for ages 8 and up, is available at Hibernia County Park, Springton Manor Farm, and Nottingham County Park.
