On Thursday, May 15, Delaware County Community College (DCCC) will celebrate the accomplishments of approximately 1,200 graduates during its annual Commencement ceremonies, held at West Chester University’s Hollinger Field House.
The day will feature two ceremonies: the morning ceremony (10:00 AM -12:00 PM) will honor graduates from Business, Computing and Social Science, and Workforce & Economic Development. The afternoon ceremony (2-4:00 PM) will celebrate graduates from STEM, Communication, Arts & Humanities, and Allied Health and Nursing.
Social Work major Saroor Dhanju of Chester Springs will deliver the student address. As President of the Student Government Association and a peer mentor through the Flame Ambassador program, Dhanju exemplifies leadership and service. She plans to pursue a career as a licensed Social Worker after completing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Returning alumna and Commencement Speaker Elisa Ford ’12 of Yeadon, a SEPTA Executive and Assistant Coach for the College’s track and field team, brings a legacy of determination. A former Olympic hopeful, Ford continues to compete and will participate in the 2025 National Senior Games.
The ceremony will also spotlight inspirational student stories — from twins Amna and Laiba Shoaib balancing work and study, to Emily Mickens, who transformed academic struggles into Dean’s List success, and student-athletes like Aidan Heppard and Fred “Tre” McCray, fresh from national track honors.
Together, the Class of 2025 reflects the resilience, drive, and diversity that define the DCCC experience.
