Chester County Picks Its Poisons for Yearly Alcohol Purchases at Fine Wine & Good Spirits

Chester County ranked fifth of all Pennsylvania counties in purchases made at Wine & Spirits locations from July 2023 through June 2024.

Chester County has ranked fifth in the state of Pennsylvania for most purchases made at Fine Wine & Good Spirits, writes staff for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

From July 2023 to June 2024, the alcohol retailer sold 156 million units across the state for over $2.3 billion in sales. 7.5 million units were sold in Chester County.

According to the statistical zip code breakdown, residents of Downingtown, Phoenixville, and West Chester favored wine purchases while Coatesville residents ranked higher in liquor purchases, buying over 12,000 units of Tito’s sold within the year.

All four zip codes favored canned cocktails the least out of Wine & Spirits’ major product categories.

Phoenixville and Coatesville residents both preferred red wine throughout the year, with thousands more red wine purchases than white wine. West Chester and Downingtown residents favored white wine, with Downingtown residents purchasing 94,769 units of white wine for the year.

In liquor purchases across the county, residents favored vodka by a noticeable margin, followed by whiskey.

Through they differed in top choices for wine varietals, all agreed on Tito’s as their vodka brand of choice.
