As the Marketing Manager at Haverford Systems Inc., Tess Protesto plays a central role in shaping how brands like PTZOptics, HuddleCamHD, and StreamGeeks engage with the world.
Born and raised in Media, Protesto’s first job came at age 15, when she became a lifeguard. After graduating from Penncrest High School, she went on to study Communication Studies at West Chester University, laying the groundwork for her future in brand building and strategic storytelling.
Today, Protesto oversees marketing strategies, campaign development, product launches, and audience engagement for some of the industry’s most recognized names in live streaming and video production. But Protesto takes pride in the projects she leads and the people she empowers along the way.
“My proudest accomplishment has been building our marketing team from two people to a powerhouse group of 13,” she said. “Watching that growth has been incredibly rewarding.”
Under her leadership, the team now functions as an in-house agency, delivering innovative solutions that fuel the growth of each brand. Whether it’s coordinating global livestreams or crafting campaigns that speak directly to creators and tech pros, Protesto thrives on collaboration and community.
“Working with passionate people to bring creative ideas to life — and seeing them resonate with real audiences — is what makes this job so special,” she said.
Protesto is also no stranger to the spotlight. Hosting live video content, including the official NAB Show live stream, has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of her career. It’s in these high-energy moments, where digital meets human, that Protesto truly shines.
Protesto credits colleague Paul Richards as one of the biggest influences on her career.
“We started as a small team and built an internal marketing program from the ground up,” she said. “His mentorship gave me the skills and confidence to lead and innovate.”
When she’s not guiding her team or speaking to a global audience, Tess likes to unwind at Green Street Grill in Downingtown, where she and her coworkers rave about the Bruno breakfast burrito during lunch breaks.
Protesto and the rest of the 2025 Class of VISTA NextGen Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, May 8, at the Penn State Great Valley Conference Center.
