This April, in honor of IBS Awareness Month, a new kind of kitchen experience is blossoming in West Chester. Hunger for Healing, founded by certified Ayurvedic health instructor and allergy mom Tashelle Darby-Wong, invites you to reconnect with your food, your health, and your senses—safely and joyfully.
Now offering hands-on, sensory-rich cooking workshops in a top 9 allergen-free, certified gluten-free Zen kitchen, Hunger for Healing is where culinary wellness meets inclusivity, creativity, and calm. Whether you’re managing food allergies, exploring Ayurveda, or simply craving deeper connection through food, there’s a space at our table for you.
“Food is more than fuel—it’s healing, it’s culture, and it’s connection,” said Darby-Wong. “We help people cook with confidence and intention, using clean, seasonal ingredients that nourish body and soul.”
What to Expect:
Each workshop is fully customized to meet the group’s needs, so everyone can enjoy home-cooked meals that nourish the body and create cherished memories. Our experiences are sensory-rich, inclusive, and centered on wellness, offering something for everyone:
- Ayurvedic Cooking for Wellness – Cook meals that support your dosha and gut health using seasonal, anti-inflammatory ingredients.
- Allergen-Safe Cooking – Create flavorful meals in a worry-free space perfect for those with food allergies, FODMAP needs, and gluten sensitivities.
- Spice Blending & Sensory Play – Craft your own healing spice blends using Ayurvedic and global herbs. Custom spice blending workshops are also available by request!
- Mindful Eating Rituals – Turn meals into meditative moments that support digestion and calm.
- Seasonal & Sustainable Cooking – Celebrate local farms and the bounty of each season.
- Private Events & Team Workshops – Celebrate milestones, build stronger teams, or gather loved ones with our signature Yoga in the Kitchen experience.
Rooted in Story, Led with Heart
Darby-Wong created Hunger for Healing from her own journey raising a child with severe food allergies. As founder of IrieVeda, the only spice company specializing in blends that are Top 23 allergen-free, certified gluten-free, and certified FODMAP-friendly, she’s made it her mission to help others cook and eat joyfully—without compromise.
Her work supports not just healthier meals, but a healthier world—partnering with local farmers, championing ingredient transparency, and reducing food anxiety one workshop at a time.
