Joint Venture Buys Bensalem, Newtown Shopping Centers for Total Price of $28.9M

Two open-air retail shopping centers in Bucks County sold to a joint venture for a total of $28.9 million, writes Paul Schwedelson for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

ShopOne Centers REIT of New York City, together with London investment firm Pantheon, and a global institutional investor paid $15.38 million for Goodnoe’s Corner in Newtown and $13.55 million for Village Center in Bensalem. The purchase was announced in March, with property records recently confirming the price.

The seller was Palladino Development Group.

The 34,660-square-foot Goodnoe’s Corner is a fully leased shopping center with tenants that include Firstrust Bank, AT&T Store, Apple Cleaners, and Jules Thin Crust. It is located at the southwest corner of North Sycamore Street and Durham Road in Newtown.

Village Center, which spans 87,705 square feet, is anchored by an Acme grocery store. Other tenants at the shopping center, located at 2363 Pasqualone Boulevard in Bensalem, include Wells Fargo, Neshaminy Beverage, and Children’s Dental Health of Bensalem.

Together, the two Bucks County properties expand the joint venture’s portfolio to 20 shopping centers totaling more than two million square feet.
