Fast-Casual Marco’s Pizza Could be Expanding Into Chester County

Marco's Pizza currently has stores across Western and Central Pennsylvania and is now planning to expand into the Philadelphia region.

Fast casual pizza chain Marco’s Pizza is looking to expand into Chester County, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The chain currently has five locations in Western and Central Pennsylvania, and now plans to open ten to fifteen new locations across Eastern Pennsylvania over the next five years, specifically in the Philadelphia region.

Headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, Marco’s Pizza was founded in 1978 and has since developed over 1,200 store locations across thirty-five U.S. states. In their expansion to Eastern Pennsylvania, the chain has partnered with Folsom resident Jack Praizner, a former Domino’s franchisee, to explore new locations in Bethlehem and Whitehall.

Chief Development Officer Gerardo Flores states that the company is also looking at options to open locations in Chester County.

In selecting new locations within the expansion, the chain is seeking spaces in high-traffic areas with approximately 1,500 square feet to support both in-store eating as well as Marco’s traditional takeout and delivery options.

Though no specific locations have been named, Flores shared that the combination of residential and commercial areas across the county make it ideal for new locations, stating, “Philadelphia presents an exciting growth opportunity due to its diverse and thriving communities, strong local economy, and love for quality pizza.”
