Independence Blue Cross has joined with the Philadelphia Phillies to launch a new campaign to honor extraordinary teachers in the Philadelphia five-county and southern New Jersey regions. The IBX Honor Roll campaign will recognize six teachers in 2025 who are hitting it out of the park with their achievements both in and out of the classroom. Students, friends, family, and community members are encouraged to submit their nominations.
“This region is home to so many outstanding schools, and at the heart of those institutions are teachers fostering possibility, shaping minds and hearts, and helping students embrace the joy of discovery,” said Susan Larkin, IBX’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “We created the IBX Honor Roll to recognize and thank extraordinary educators who go above and beyond to ignite a lifelong love of learning in their students. Their dedication inspires us all and deserves our deepest gratitude.”
Nominations Now Open
IBX is now accepting nominations for teachers who are shaping the future of their students, schools, and communities. To be eligible, nominees must be current K-12 teachers in the Philadelphia five-county region or New Jersey and have at least five years of teaching experience at a public, private, or parochial school. Nominations will be accepted through April 13.
IBX Honor Roll winners will be chosen based on various criteria that highlight their unwavering dedication to their students and the community. This includes the nominee’s ability to foster a love of learning in the classroom, their active participation in extracurricular activities, and how they positively impact their students’ social and emotional well-being.
Win the VIP Experience
IBX will honor six teachers, one per month, between April and September. Winning teachers will be treated to a VIP experience, including:
- An on-field experience and recognition at a 2025 regular season home Phillies game
- A $500 Visa gift card
- An IBX swag bag, including a Phillies cap and jersey
- Recognition on ballpark concourse signage and IBX social media
- A separate behind-the-scenes ballpark tour on a non-gameday to share with students or staff

A Longstanding Relationship
The decades-long partnership between IBX and the Phillies includes IBX serving as the Official Health Insurance Partner of the Phillies and as the team’s first Official Jersey Patch sponsor.
