Andiario, Anthony Andiario’s renowned West Chester establishment, has received a semifinalist nomination for the James Beard Foundation’s 2025 Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic Award, writes Ben Silver for the Main Line Today.
This marks Andiario’s second James Beard semifinalist nomination, making it the only restaurant in Philadelphia’s western suburbs to receive recognition in the 2025 award cycle.
Andiario will find out on April 2 if he made it to the nominees round. Winners will be announced on June 16, at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
“[When] I was initially nominated for Best Chef, that was a surprise,” said Andiario. “This was even a bigger surprise because I think it’s just kind of off the radar, right? West Chester has definitely accepted us and welcomed us, and we feel super blessed and lucky to have such great customers.”
At Andiario, guests do not come in for a regular meal. The restaurant, which is open Wednesday to Saturday, serves $80 prix-fixe dinners that change weekly based on the season.
“We work with some things that are only in season for two weeks or sometimes even shorter,” said Andiario.
This model has proven to be successful, with reservations selling out as soon as they are released.
