A Bucks County woman credits the Philadelphia Eagles with saving her life, writes Michelle Wolf for 69 News.
Jo-Ann Furia of Doylestown was unwell on the day of the NFC Championship Game, and her family became concerned when she didn’t contact them. Her daughter, Gina Rubel, noted the unusual silence, especially since Jo-Ann is an avid Eagles fan who would typically text during games.
Realizing something was wrong, Gina called her mother repeatedly until Jo-Ann finally answered. This allowed them to call an ambulance, which arrived quickly.
At Doylestown Hospital, Jo-Ann was diagnosed with sepsis and aspiration, and her condition was critical. Gina believes that if it weren’t for the Eagles’ game prompting them to check in, they might not have acted in time.
Despite her ordeal, Jo-Ann’s spirit remains strong. After 11 days in the hospital, she is now recovering at a rehab center in Warrington. A die-hard Eagles fan, Jo-Ann proudly sports her Eagles gear, making her presence known among fellow residents.
Her story has reached notable figures like Big Dom and The Philly Sports Guy, who are cheering for her recovery. As Jo-Ann regains her strength, she wishes Saquon Barkley a happy birthday, showcasing her unwavering support for her team.
