Arnold “Arnie” Kring, a Chester County resident known for his lifelong community contributions, has passed away at the age of 93, writes Mike Rellahan for The Daily Local News.
Among his many titles, Kring was an educator, farmer, realtor, elected official, and church leader.
Kring grew up on his family farm in Chester Springs before attending Auburn University in Alabama, where he studied agricultural education.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War, Kring moved back to Pennsylvania. He was hired as a fourth-grade teacher at Caln Elementary School.
During his thirty years as an educator, Kring would also serve as principal of Kings Highway Elementary School. He was known for patrolling the school halls on roller skates.
After retiring from education, Kring worked as a real estate broker in central Chester County. He was later elected to the Caln Board of Commissioners, a position he held for eight years.
Kring is survived by his five children, in addition to his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
