Burton's Grill & Bar is just one of several new tenants and building projects coming to downtown Wayne.

Downtown Wayne is bustling as Lancaster Avenue storefronts fill up with new tenants, and luxury condos get built, writes Caroline O’Halloran for Savvy Main Line.

Burton’s Grill & Bar is moving into a long-empty Chili’s building at 312 W. Lancaster Ave. and should open in early 2025.

Ballard Designs, a home décor and furniture store, is looking to take a 10-year lease at the old Gap building on Lancaster Avenue and will move in sometime after Nov. 4.

The old Wayne Jeweler’s building at Lancaster and North Wayne Avenues will be home to URBAN’s largest Free People Movement activewear store in the area.

An expanded Bliss Nails is now open in the blue-green building owned by the Tehrani brothers.

A wine bar is looking at a possible space in the old Cowan’s Flower Shop.

Meanwhile, a vacant string of stores at Louella and Lancaster Ave. will likely be torn down. These include the former homes of Gingy’s Boutique, Aux Petits bakery, the old Bliss Nails and a residential building.

A mixed-use apartment building from Berger Development is scheduled to be built at the site.

Finally, revised plans to build condos on a parking lot near Boyds have been approved.
