Seth and Samantha Reeser fell in love with a brick Colonial in Wayne when they saw it, and they made it a Valentine’s Day gift to each other.

For Seth and Samantha Reeser, the 1915 brick Colonial in Wayne on its acre of land was the perfect Valentine’s Day gift to each other five years ago, writes Sally A. Downey for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

But they both realized some things would need to be changed, including its old fixtures. For example in the bright living room, the couple installed a gas insert in the brick fireplace.

At the time they purchased the home, Seth’s son, Trevor was 13 and Samantha was pregnant with daughter Amelia. The three-story, six-bedroom, three-bathroom home seemed spacious enough, but it lacked the essential family room.

The couple decided not to change the existing layout and instead opted for an addition but with a few stipulations. It had to integrate with the rest of the house and the arched Palladian window on the back wall needed to be preserved.

Total Home Solution in Eagleville was able to fulfill their request perfectly. The contractors built out from the wall and constructed an 18-foot-high peaked structure that features four skylights. The new space added 2,000 square feet to the home.
