Wayne couple Leah and Jason Morganroth are the co-chairs of Natural Lands’ NextGen Council, a group of nature-loving professionals who are proving that contrary to popular belief, young people are more than happy to actively volunteer for the environment, writes J.F. Pirro for Main Line Today.

“It all fits well with nature, the ecosystem, and ties in with Natural Lands’ mission,” said Jason.

NextGen currently has 16 members, all of whom are leaders and influencers who are working toward a future for the region that is fueled by open-space preservation, outdoor recreation, and land conservation.

They primarily use their extensive professional and personal networks to increase awareness of Natural Lands, the Media-based influential nonprofit conservation organization. The Morganroths, who are the youngest members of the Natural Lands’ President’s Council, also advise on different projects, programs, and events aiming to build bridges between the natural world and their peers.

“It’s been heartening to see a new generation of conservation-minded individuals who are passionate,” said Oliver Bass, Natural Lands’ president. “Our NextGen members bring great new perspectives on how Natural Lands can generate awareness, engagement, and impact with a younger and more diverse audience.”
