Alex Flowers in Radnor is determined to bring some happiness to sick and dying dogs.

Alex Flowers of Radnor decided to make it his mission to give older dogs who may be sick or dying the best day of their life, writes Matt DeLucia for NBC 10 Philadelphia.

The 16-year-old was inspired by his dog, Chance, a black labrador.

Chance doesn’t get around as much as he did in his younger years, so that inspired Alex to do something special.

“To give your senior, or sick, dog their best day ever,” Alex said. “And it could be anything, ranging from a simple walk that they couldn’t do all the way, to something very crazy, like even a boat ride.”

The idea caught with pet owners after Alex started posting on Instagram. Within a few months, he’s given more than 40 dogs an adventure of a lifetime.

That can mean a car ride, a day at the beach and even a simple walk in the park.

“So, when you give them that chance to do it, it might not seem like it’s much because they’re not talking to you … but you just know they’re going to like what they’re doing.”

Alex has started a nonprofit, hoping to raise money for every toy and every trip.
