“Real success in any worthwhile endeavor is about the value you create, not just the value you get.”

When you adopt this perspective, emphasized in the Valuegenic Self-Leadership Development Program, true success becomes more than achieving business or financial goals — it’s about creating value for yourself and those around you.

However, many of us operate from a self-centered mindset, also known as our B-Game. This mindset often keeps us focused on what ourselves and what we want and is typically the root of our fears, limiting beliefs, conflicts, and self-doubts. Your B-Game means that you are operating from anywhere less than your best self.

Usually, these biases are unconscious, and we don’t even know when we are operating out of them. Shifting to a growth-oriented mindset, our A-Game allows us to prioritize what truly matters and embrace new opportunities. We can switch to operate from our B-Game to our A-Game at any time.

When you choose to operate from your A-Game and engage your unique skills and assets, you choose to see the world in a different and more productive way. By slowing down and choosing to respond differently in situations, you tap into your potential and can achieve your goals in ways you didn’t know were possible!

One of my clients, Dana Schmidt of Slice Communications, came to me wanting to increase her capacity, but she quickly realized that her old beliefs were holding her back. Together, we identified that to create more value in her personal and professional life, she needed to become less passive and more direct, present, and firm. We worked on leveraging her natural strengths and practiced intentional pauses before responding.

This approach allowed her to break free from her limiting beliefs and realign with her path to success. By focusing on her strengths and shifting her mindset, she was able to create the value she desired in both her life and work.

Seeing big changes in your personal and professional life can only come when you commit to doing the A-Game work and making lasting changes.

You too can create lasting change by reflecting on the narratives you hold about yourself. Are they empowering or limiting? Identify your strengths and practice being intentional in your responses. Sometimes, letting go of the old stories you’ve been telling yourself is all it takes to get back on track and support your growth. Learn more at Achievable.com.
