Westtown School in West Chester is currently working on several capital projects, writes Todd Romero for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“A new lower school playscape is now underway and will be completed this fall and will feature items like a giant slide, a Viking swing, a tree house, a rain garden, and bouldering scrambles,” said Anne Burns, dean of communications at Westtown School.
Westtown is also entering the final stage of its major renovation and expansion project. Once completed, the school’s Center for the Living Arts will boast a new theater, two-story gallery space, and several art studios.
Westtown is also working on completing its new athletic complex.
“Our new outdoor athletic complex is set to include two side-by-side turf fields (one which features low-impact, professional stadium lighting), two new natural grass fields, a new softball field, a new baseball field, spectator seating, a modern club house, new scoreboards, and ADA-compliant parking,” said Burns.
Finally, the school recently completed renovation of the Barbara and Allan Staats House.
“The Staats House will now serve as offices for the Advancement Department and as a significant welcoming entertainment and meeting space for the entire Westtown community,” said Burns.
