The Council Rock Newtown Little League baseball team has captured the attention of Bucks County and beyond, securing a spot in the prestigious Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, writes Andrea Rose-Oates for NBC 10 Philadelphia.
The team triumphed over Washington, D.C., with a 5-1 victory in the Mid-Atlantic Region final, despite rain delays in Bristol, Connecticut.
The game was broadcast on ESPN, showcasing the team’s talent and determination.
With an impressive undefeated record of 18-0, the longest winning streak in the county, CR Newtown has proven to be a force to be reckoned with.
Their journey to the World Series began with a flawless performance in District 30, followed by a dominant showing in Section 6 and the state tournament, where they went 4-0.
Led by head coach Brad Hamilton, the team features standout players like Gavin Caudill, Rocco DaBronzo, and Wes Esteves, who have contributed to the team’s success with 27 hits in just two regional games.
