Chester Springs Creamery was chosen among favorite by PA's first official ice cream officers.

Maddie Smith and Mia Svirsky, friends and social media content creators from Washington, D.C., were tasked by the American Dairy Association to find the best creameries in Pennsylvania. And holy cow did they come up with a list of winning favorites, writes Rita Giordano for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

As PA’s first official “ice cream officers,” the pair traveled around the state for a three-week tour and posted their delicious treats along the way.

From State College and York to Ephrata and Lansdale, some superlatives from these creameries include “Best Woman-Run Creamery,” “Most Beautiful Setting,” and “Best Cow-to-Cone Experience.”

The Chester County creamery that made the list of favorites is the Chester Springs Creamery at Milky Way Farm in Chester Springs.

The creamery earned the title of “Best Flavor Names.” All of Milky Way Farm’s flavors are named after their herd of cows, meaning there are currently over 48 flavors. Some of them are called Bailey’s Butterscotch, Ginger’s Chai Tea, Bea’s Banana Chocolate Chunk, Melody’s Mocha Chip, and many more.
