OsoSweet Bakery Cafe in Chadds Ford has been recognized with the 2024 Business of the Year award, writes Rich Schwartzman for Chadds Ford Live.

The Chadds Ford Township Residents Association honored owner Tess Wofford with the award due to her efforts to boost the community both spiritually and economically. Wanting to create a welcoming environment for everyone who comes through her doors, Wofford provides warm baked goods, live music, and Friday night pizza events.

“My life-long dream was to open a bakery since I was really little, and I never expected anything like this mainly because my 7-year-old version was a lot more pink,” she said.

Wofford graduated from Unionville High School. She also attended the Culinary Institute of America in Texas for a pastry program that helped her open the shop one month later.

To benefit her community more, Wofford supplies scones to Chadds Ford Coffee House across the way from her shop. Additionally, she hosts baking classes for local Girl Scouts and Unionville’s Wellness Days.
