Audition for ‘Waking State’ in Bristol: Feature Film Seeks Local Talent

Bucks County is about to enter the spotlight as the feature film “Waking State” begins shooting in Bristol.  

The casting company Backstage has announced a casting call for the micro-budget mystery/comedy film, which blends elements of crime drama and comedy. 

“Waking State” follows Tommy, a young attorney assistant who discovers a videotape containing instructions for an assassination. This discovery sends him on a mysterious journey involving the victim, the tape’s owner, and his own struggle with alcoholism. 

Four key roles are available: 

  • Sammy (female, 35-65): A successful estate attorney eager for her son Tommy to move out. 
  • Tiff (female, 25-45): A lively bartender reconsidering her relationship with Tommy. 
  • Jessica Franklin (female, 40-70): A recent widow with esoteric beliefs and a vivacious personality. 
  • The Collector (male, 40-70): An operative for a covert government organization. 

Filming is scheduled from July 22 to August 4, with nighttime shoots on specified dates. Selected actors will be paid $216 per day. 

To audition, actors must register as Backstage members, with memberships starting at $24.99 per month. Backstage offers a platform for actors to find roles and advance their careers.
