Bucks County, along with other counties that make up the Philadelphia suburbs, has some of the most expensive home prices in both the state and the country, writes Chris Ullery for the Bucks County Courier Times.
According to late 2023 data from the National Association of Realtors, the median home price in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties was more than two times higher than the state’s median home value of $191,550.
Bucks County’s estimated median home value of around $447,000 is the second highest in the state, only behind Chester County, and it was also the 149th highest-priced county in the nation.
However, despite the cost, the Bucks County market is bustling.
Bucks County Association of Realtors President Stephanie Garomon said that even with the high price tag compared to the rest of the state, the local housing market is “doing far better than other parts of the state.”
There were around 459 new listings in the county last month and the average home sold for around $450,000 after only being on the market for about a month.
