Former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek is spending his post-pro football days enjoying life with his wife and four kids at their modern smart home in West Chester, writes Tom Samiljan for Dealerscope.

The house and adjoining barn feature a fully connected setup that includes everything from lighting and shades to alarm systems, as well as inside and outside speakers for music.

The residence is for the most part powered by Loxone, a Garnet Valley-based home and building automation company. The bulk of the space consists of smoothly interconnected Loxone products integrated with several third-party lights and speakers. The technology is tied together with a central miniserver that removes the need for a connection to the cloud.

The company offers up to eight programmable house modes.

“I like to have a true smart home,” said Celek. “I don’t think you should be on your phone all the time switching stuff. That’s why I love Loxone. There’s nothing I have to do, and unless I want to turn on music, I don’t go onto the app.”
