Tapster, a self-pour tasting room chain, is planning to expand in Greater Philadelphia, including in Chester County.

Tapster, a self-pour tasting room chain with a Rittenhouse Square location, is planning to expand into Philadelphia suburbs like Chester County, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

According to founder and CEO Roman Maliszewski, the chain is currently actively looking for franchisees to open new tasting rooms in the region.

Tapster allows customers direct access to over 40 drink taps. They pay for their drinks by the ounce using the Tapster card. Tapster offers a rotating variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including craft cocktails, beer, kombucha, coffee, and soda, among others.

Maliszewski opened the first location seven years ago in Chicago. The chain has since added locations in several states. While the franchise hopes to have a presence in the majority of major U.S. cities within the following decade, the primary focus currently is to expand in existing markets, such as Philadelphia.

Maliszewski believes that many suburban towns around Philadelphia would be great spots for Tapster since few of them are home to similar tasting room concepts.

“All those suburbs could use one,” he said. “Everything from Malvern to Media, up on the Main Line. I really think it would be a huge success.”
