The season of fresh vegetables and fruits is upon us, and several local farmers markets in Chester County offer you the chance to buy local and also grab other homemade products to enjoy while supporting small businesses from the area, writes Hira Qureshi for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
At Kennett Square Farmers Market, the lineup changes slightly each week but always has plenty of vendors to choose from. Among the highlights at this Friday market is Sundry Mornings Spice, which offers its hot sauces and condiments.
Phoenixville Farmers’ Market, found on Saturdays under the Gay Street Bridge, has much to offer, from berries and eggs to baked breads and meats. You can make preorders from Birchrun Hills Farm, Deep Roots Valley Farm, and others online.
West Chester Growers Market at the corner of Church and West Chestnut Streets offers a rich selection of produce from many farms each Saturday starting in May. Vendors include Conebella Farm, Blueberry Hilly Farm, and Lindenhof Farm, among many others.
The Berwyn Farmers Market is hosted by Culinary Harvest on Sundays in Bronze Plaza. Vendors include Glass Jar Cookies, Fishtown Pickle Project, Taste of Puebla, and more.
